A History of MapMaking is a series for cello, electronics and live video in collaboration with Live Cinema artist Mia Makela. Performed in Linz (2007), Barcelona (2008), Mexico City (2010) and Córdoba (2012), the work involves a cellist interacting with a computer application that is listening for events. A combination of pre-prepared and live recorded samples are played back according to the cellist's attacks and intensities, where the pre-prepared samples are heavily manipulated and are heavily inspired from a large selection of contemporary orchestral works. The work was created specifically for live performance in collaboration with Mia.
